Experience

  • Indie Game Developer at Two 4 Six 4
    Lahore, PK
    July 2024 - Present

After my fourth semester at university, I decided I wanted to make and release my own games on Steam. I started working on a game idea that I really liked, but I took a break from it to learn skills like animation and music.

After graduating, I decided to make a smaller game first before going back to my original project. I think it is better to complete and release a game before taking on a project that could take several years to finish.

  • Freelancer at Upwork
    Lahore, PK
    March 2024 - March 2026

I occasionally worked on freelance game development projects through Upwork. Developed full games, created prototypes to test game ideas, and tested games to provide feedback on how to improve them.

  • Incubation and other things at M-Labs
    Lahore, PK
    March 2023 - February 2024

As part of the incubation program, I developed mobile games with M-Labs. I handled the entire development process, while M-Labs served as the publisher for our projects. I also took part in the following:

    Tech Shorts:

I recorded bite sized game development tutorials for the local community. The goal was to address basic common problems that beginners face. They can be found on the official M-Labs page: https://www.instagram.com/mlabsofficial/

    Teaching sessions and general help:

Sometimes we held online teaching sessions on the official M-Labs Discord server (now Pakistan Games Collective). We would also occasionally help students with technical issues during game jams.

Out of Thin Air Game Jams:

These were 2 day on-site game jams conducted by M-Labs in which you had to create a board game. So no programming and technical skills, just pure art and game design skills. I have participated in 2 OOTA game jams and learned a lot because of them.

  • Mentoring in Game Development and Game Design at COMSATS University
    Lahore, PK
    March 2023 - July 2024

In 2nd semester I started mentoring in university as the game dev mentor of the IEEE RAS society. In 4th semester, I joined MS Student Chapter as the lead mentor and began mentoring students who were interested in game development as their careers.
